Banda açoriana de Doom Metal e Metal Gótico, que integra a denominada 2ª vaga de Heavy Metal Açoriano.

Em 2002, após o lançamento de duas demos "In Beauty" e "Just Like Tears", editaram "Antilia", um trabalho com apenas 3 temas, inspirados na Lenda das Sete Cidades (Antilia), nos Açores. "Antilia" colocou os IN PECCATVM no mapa do heavy metal.

Consagram-se em 2009, com este EP "MDLXIII", cuja temática é a erupção vulcânica, que aconteceu na Ilha de São Miguel, em 1563.

Desde a primeira faixa "All I Am Is Fear (Prelude)", o instrumental que nos agarra logo, pela sua força e intensidade, todo o álbum é uma experiência mais que auditiva... é emocional, é algo que se entranha nas profundezas e fica lá.

A voz é poderosa, grave, forte e melodiosa, com uma dicção irrepreensível. A alternância entre o português e o inglês é feito de uma forma tão harmoniosa que quase não damos pela mudança de idioma. E temos a componente instrumental, que é absolutamente fantástica. Guitarras, baixo, bateria e teclas conjugam-se numa combinação que nos transporta, tanto para o centro da erupção do vulcão, como para a calma que antecede nova explosão.

Só é possível fazer uma obra destas, quando se tem paixão!

"MDLXIII" é um trabalho conceptual sobre a erupção que, em 1563, devastou a parte central da ilha de São Miguel (Açores). Nele, In Peccatum tenta transmitir o terror e medo sentidos pelos ancestrais habitantes, quando confrontados com a fúria emanante das entranhas da terra. Liricamente, foram utilizados excertos da obra "Saudades da Terra", de Gaspar Frutuoso, historiador do século XVI, e, também ele, testemunha destas convulsões vulcânicas."

Azorean band of Doom Metal and Gothic Metal, that includes the denominated 2nd wave of Azorean Heavy Metal.

In 2002, after releasing two demos "In Beauty" and "Just Like Tears", they released "Antilia", a work with only 3 tracks, inspired by the Legend of the Seven Cities (Antilia) in the Azores. "Antilia" put the IN PECCATVM on the heavy metal map.

They are consecrated in 2009, with this EP "MDLXIII", whose theme is the volcanic eruption, that happened in the Island of San Miguel, in 1563.

Since the first track "All I Am Is Fear (Prelude)", the instrument that grabs us soon, by its strength and intensity, the entire album is a more than auditory experience ... it is emotional, it is something that goes deep into the depths and stay there.

The voice is powerful, serious, strong and melodious, with an irreproachable diction. The alternation between Portuguese and English is done in such a harmonious way that we hardly notice the change of language. And we have the instrumental component, which is absolutely fantastic. Guitars, bass, drums and keys combine in a union that transports us, both to the center of the eruption of the volcano, and to the calm that precedes a new explosion.

It is only possible to do such a work when one has passion!

"MDLXIII" is a conceptual work on the eruption that, in 1563, devastated the central part of the island of São Miguel (Azores). In it, In Peccatum attempts to convey the terror and fear felt by the ancestral inhabitants when confronted with the fury emanating from the bowels of the earth. Lyrically, excerpts from the work "Saudades da Terra" by Gaspar Frutuoso, a sixteenth-century historian, and also a witness to these volcanic convulsions, were used. "
